Profile - Scottish Widows Bank

Published 15 October 2010 | By FIS

Bank in a box.

Scottish Widows Bank opened in 1995, providing mould-breaking savings and mortgage products through IFAs, through its call centre and now online. It is the banking arm of Scottish Widows, a financial company with a 180-year history.

Business objectives: To offer its customers more innovative products and offer the features of a full-function retail bank.

FIS solution: FIS Profile provided everything required to start a savings bank from scratch.

  • FIS Profile is a simple, easy-to-use "bank in a box"
  • Software can be used by non-IT specialists to develop new products
  • The solution is ideal for originating accounts online
  • FIS can host and run Profile for any bank, or the bank can run it in-house with FIS support
  • The solution works in any market and has been rolled out successfully throughout EMEA

Benefits achieved: FIS Profile enabled Scottish Widows Bank to bring the mortgage operation back inhouse, add more innovative niche products and integrate the savings operations from the remaining legacy environments.

Gary McGregor, director of Operations and IT, Scottish Widows Bank, said: "We needed a fast, responsive software environment that allows us to keep pushing the barriers and offering our customers great service."
