Singapore nets investment from Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse has leased additional office space in Singapore to provide further training facilities and back office services for its operations in the Asia Pacific region.
Credit Suisse has leased new space at One Raffles Quay to house support staff covering a range of activities including information technology, operations, finance and product control. The new facility has a capacity for 1,400 staff, of which roughly 900 positions will be filled by year-end 2007. Of this figure, the majority of staff will be local hires. At full capacity, Credit Suisse's expansion to One Raffles Quay will represent a significant increase of its workforce in Singapore to almost 3,600 personnel. The new center of excellence at One Raffles Quay is the second such facility Credit Suisse has taken in Singapore, adding to an existing facility in Changi Business Park. The new facilities at One Raffles Quay will greatly enhance our current global support operations for [the] business activities of Credit Suisse, says Thomas Sanzone, chief information officer at Credit Suisse. We will continue to enjoy the benefits of the world-class IT infrastructure that exists in Singapore and, more importantly, further our access to the excellent talent pool that is available to us here in Singapore and in the region generally, he added.
