CEO steps down in Cardpoint upheaval
Mark Mills, chief executive of UK fee-charging cash dispenser company Cardpoint, has stepped down, according to reports. The news comes a week after the departure of non-executive chairman Michael Hepher, who is to be replaced by Bob Thian, currently chairman of Southern Water.

A report on the Independent Online suggests that dissatisfied shareholders were a major reason behind the resignation of the outgoing chief executive after a drop in the company's share price over the past year.

Cardpoint recently received a takeover offer from an unnamed bidder that is said to value the company at approximately GBP104 million or GBP1 per share. However, the incoming Mr Thian was quoted in the Independent as saying: There's a formal bid on the table and the board has to consider it, but it won't take too long. It feels like it's in the 'far too low' club.
