ABN Amro expands business traveler services
ABN Amro has opened a lounge at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, offering customers further banking facilities.
The new lounge fits in with ABN Amro's ambition to become the primary bank for all its customers, including business travelers. At Schiphol we apply this concept by gearing our services to travelers, with the emphasis on speed and a personal approach, said Jan Peter Schmittmann, CEO, at an official opening ceremony at the airport. Customers of the bank can conduct banking business, or hold a pre-flight meeting in a special conference room. For instance, they can access Internet banking or take out travel insurance. The lounge is geared to the needs of the bank's 'preferred banking' clients with investable assets of at least E50,000 and/or a monthly net household income of E5,000. The company introduced the 'preferred banking' concept in late 2004. Currently around 70 branches across the Netherlands have a 'preferred banking' lounge similar to the one at Schiphol airport.
