The Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) is one of the largest Islamic banking institutions to provide banking services in the Unites Arab Emirates (UAE). Its principal activities include Islamic financing, investments, commercial and other banking services in accordance with Islamic Shari’a as approved by the Bank’s Fatwa and Shari’a Supervisory Board. ADIB offers a variety of banking services including personal banking, corporate banking, royal banking, investment banking and institutional banking. ADIB operates through a network of 36 branches and 74 ATM machines in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Um Alquwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujariah, Al Ain and Khorfakan. The bank is headquartered in Abu Dhabi city in the United Arab Emirates.
The bank reported interest income of (Untd. Arab Dirham) AED 3,039.02 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, an increase of 6.20% over 2007. The net interest income after loan loss provision of the bank was AED 2,579.34 million during the fiscal year 2008, a decrease of 6.02% from 2007. The net profit of the bank was AED 851.26 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 10.77% over 2007.
