In October 2008, the Dutch bought Fortis Bank Nederland, including its interests in ABN AMRO and as of 24 December 2008, the Dutch state replaced Fortis as a stakeholder in RFS Holdings. ABN AMRO is now owned by RBS, Santander and the Dutch government. The bank provides Personal Banking, Private Banking, Corporate and Institute Banking, and Business and Commercial banking services in the financial sector. It has an extensive business network across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Asia Pacific region. ABN AMRO is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
